Single Leg RDL (Romanian Deadlift) is an important functional exercise. Romanian deadlifts emphasise hinging around the hips. Standard RDLs targets greater levels of glute and hamstring activation.

The addition of the kettlebell swing to the basic RDL stance either supported as in the video or unsupported the focus of the exercise becomes one of improving  and enhancing stability and motor control. Maintaining Body alignment is key to maintaining balance.

The Lateral Swing in RDL stance is an effective exercise for improving core stability.

This is a simple effective functional exercise. This variant of the basic single leg RDL exercise is a progression. Several related but easier exercises can be done instead of this movement. Find more RDL exercises in our other exercise features.
