The Australian Sub-Junior, Junior and Masters Powerlifting championships were recently held in Melbourne on the 5-7 of August.

A great powerlifting weekend was had by all with a wide selection of Australian powerlifting records being broken among the many personal best lifts being achieved in most divisions.

 

Our local Gympie Powerlifter, Declan Evans Achieved a Silver Medal in the Sub-Junior under 59 kg Raw division with a 115 kg Squat, 80 kg Bench Press and a 130 kg Deadlift, a fantastic efort after an injury interupted training cycle prior to the event.

Winning this division was a Powerlifter from Brisbane, breaking the Australian Sub Junior Deadlift Record.

Running in conjunction with the Australian Powerlifting Championships was the Melbourne Open where Kevin a first time competitor demostrates that Powerlifting is a sport for those of any Stature.
